Champagne Grapes and Humboldt Fog (the light, the shade)

the light, the shade
This painting is part of my ongoing series "the light, the shade" that I began in December 2012. I wrote about Bob Lax and described my inspiration for this series here. Also, if you're new to my blog, I've painted Cypress Grove's alluring Humboldt Fog cheese a couple of times before.

If you have a minute, please consider taking my quick 3-question survey today. The survey will end on Thursday. Thank you, in advance!

Ending Soon (at 8:30 PM tonight)

Handmade Cup with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Humboldt Fog

6x8 in., oil on linen on panel, framed
Available: Email me for price list

With Julie Andrews' voice in my head, I'll share that this painting contains two of my favorite things to paint: pottery (part of my ongoing Paintings of Handmade Pottery project) and Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog cheese. I find it a fascinating cheese, and Cypress Grove describes it best: "Each handcrafted wheel features a ribbon of edible vegetable ash along its center and a coating of ash under its exterior to give it a distinctive, cake-like appearance."
