As a Philadelphia artist, I felt a special connection to the Philadelphia Museum of Art's exhibition Audubon to Warhol: The Art of American Still Life, which just recently closed. Still life "has a special connection to [the Philadelphia] region: Philadelphia artists first defined American still-life practice and remained at its forefront....This exhibition [was] the first to explore this distinctive aspect of American still-life painting." It was a phenomenal show overall, and I plan to share more about it in the coming weeks.
